Wands for Focus & Magic
My wands speak to me long before the honing begins. As I walk through wooded areas, different trees call my name, they reach for me with outstretched limbs, they yearn to connect, magick to magick, their life force shared with ours. Each species speaks its own language and stirs its own connective energies.
One of my favorites is birch, the quintessential message of black and white, the light and the dark, artistically combined into a beauty all its own. I love oak, powerful, unyielding, tenacious, proud, and ash, the tree of life, healing, protective, strong and a giver of prosperity. There are many, each equally as vital, offering themselves up to magick.
Each wand follows its own shape, undulating with the spirit of its host. It sings a unique song, a pattern of senses drawing in and flowing out the universal energies. Each wand tells me what stones will bind with that energy and speak to the cross purpose. It whispers ideas and tells me to use copper, leather, feathers, symbols, the earth and spirit combining.
Each wand takes days to complete. Sometimes they must sit silent as they ponder their message. I hold the stones in my left hand and the wood in my right and wait to hear their conversation. Some stones come from incredible places - a pumice from a ravine in the High Sierras, a lone quartz from an alluvial plane near Native petroglyphs, a gift of snowflake obsidian from a close friend. Some stones are plentiful, but that doesn't decrease their individual powers.
Each wand holds a message outlined on their tags. I detail what drove me to create that wand, why I chose the components and its best use. Each wand will find its perfect owner - one who will respect and honor its power, never mistreating it or allowing it to become a toy or novelty. Is your wand waiting for you?
